Rupertswood CC club is advertising for a Senior Coach for the 2017/18 season.
Rupertswood is a large club, fielding senior six sides in the GDCA, North West of Melbourne. The position of Senior Coach may be undertaken in a playing or non-playing capacity. The cricket club is looking for a candidate that is eager to lead and contribute to a positive club environment with a view to extend and push both our young and more experienced players.
Interested candidates can contact Brett Hudd on 0417 316 387 for a position description and further details.
The club would like to recognise and thank Mark ‘Slammer’ Ryan for the effort and passion that he brought to the position of Captain – Coach in the 2016/17 season. Slammer has decided to not continue in the role with a view to continue in a playing capacity in upcoming season. The club look forwards to benefiting for his dedication and leadership into the future.
After a stint away from the game, Hall of Famer, son of a great scorer and possibly the third or fourth best Buckley, Brendan Buckley makes a return to Rupertswood today in a ploy to qualify for upcoming finals. Brendan took two years away from the game to focus on his family and further career. Instead, Brendan spent a majority of his time in the gym, now sized up and ready to go big with the bat. Brendan is renowned for his effort bowling in the nets when the sun is setting, his signature shot, the ‘6 iron’ over mid-wicket and his desire to bowl first on most occasions. Today Brendan takes on Ashfield at Ashfield under captain Daniel Kavanagh. One can only wonder how long it will take for Brendan to take Daniel under his arm and set a field over the top of him.
Great to have you back Bucko. Stay angry and go and get them!
Long time Rupertswood cricketer and the 2015/16 1st XI Vice Captain Premiership player, Mark ‘Slammer’ Ryan, has been appointed Captain-Coach for the 2016/17 season.
Following a successful year that saw Slammer make his maiden ton, win a flag and be named player of the finals, it is very fitting that Slammer steps up lead the club in our pursuit for success as the club returns to playing McIntyre Cup Cricket. Mark is very well respected by all Rupertswood people and with his strong values, determination and competitive spirit putting the club in good stead as we embark on another season.
Slammer has approved a preseason schedule (below) that provides all players with the opportunity to best prepare for the season ahead.
New or interested players are welcome to attend training sessions with enquires directed to Slammer on 0434 629 992 or Brett (Cricket Operations) on 0417 316 387

Following significant on field success in the 2015/16 season, Rupertswood Cricket Club is advertising for the position of Senior Coach for the upcoming season. Finishing on top of the B grade ladder and winning the premiership, the club again has the opportunity to play McIntyre Cup cricket in the upcoming season.
Player retention is very strong for next season and a steady, supportive and reliable culture is in place to support a suitable coaching candidate. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone new to senior coaching that is looking to develop their skills set or a seasoned coach that could easily step in to take on a large playing group that is raring to go. In 2015/16, Rupertswood had 5 senior side, 4 making finals, three making GFs and two cups in the cupboard.
As per GDCA expectations and strongly held philosophy, this is the club’s only remunerated position and is open to both playing and non playing candidates.
Any interested candidates are encouraged to call all round great guy BRETT HUDD on 0417 316 387
Under 12 player, Sonny Phelan added to his trophy cabinet over the weekend, picking up a rare hat trick against Riddell during Rupertswood’s defence of 116. Sonny finished his two overs with a remarkable 3 for 9, sending a late scare through Riddell’s middle order, with the Bombers passing Rupo’s total 7 down. In addition to his hat trick, Sonny took a screamer of a catch, teaching our senior arm of the club a thing or two on how to get the job done. Well done Sonny, keep up the great work!
