Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well here we are just over halfway through the cricket season and Christmas time already.

I have to mention what a great thrill it was to have a club photo taken on the main oval last Thursday night with senior and junior players from all grades plus coaches, team managers and committee members.

Certainly looking forward to the finished product to post on the website and display in the clubrooms moving forward.Thankyou to all who turned out and for supporting the entertaining match played between some of our senior players and our up and coming young guns.

On behalf of the RCC Committee,I wish to extend to all players that represent our great club, members, parents and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. There is still much cricket to be played and activities to be enjoyed after the break so please ensure you visit the website regularly to keep up to date with what is happening.

Take care over the festive season and and bring back plenty of positive energy into the new year to play out the rest of the season as best we can.

Go Rupertswood!

Lead up to Christmas break

There is a lot happening down at Rupo in the lead up to Christmas. Note the following dates and make every effort to be available to make a contribution and have some fun.

Tuesday 18th of December

Ben Jordan will visit training and work closely with the club’s wicket keepers to pass on tips and provide some drills that they can use to make improvements to their game.

Thursday 20th of December – PHOTO NIGHT.

The club is looking at making history by capturing a photo that has every playing and non-playing member of the cricket club included in one shot. Don’t miss your chance to get your melon in a photo that will be displayed in the clubroom for years if not decades to come. The plan it to have all senior and junior players, scorers, committee members and anyone who makes a valuable contribution to the club included in the photo.  All players are expected to wear their whites!!!

Thursday 20th of December – Twenty20 match  Senior XI vs. the Under 17 side.

There will be no training held on the 20th of December as the club saddles up for the last match before Christmas. Instead there will be special Twenty Match involving a select XI of senior players taking on Jayden Swallow’s under 17 side. Team selection for the weekend’s side will take place as normal and all players are encouraged to attend as part of the club photo opportunity.

Saturday 22nd of December – Christmas break up

Get down to the club for match reports and some Christmas celebrations. The bounty will be drawn out and Micky Lamb will be looking for a record take on the meat tray raffle! The bounty can only go to someone present, if the person drawn is absent, a redraw will take place until the bounty goes off.
