Lily’s trip to a Milo Cricket Workshop at the MCG

Last season Lily Wakeling was given the chance of a lifetime to attend a Milo Cricket workshop at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Lily entered a competition and was chosen amongst 50 other children to participate. The excitement was high as Lily started her adventure by catching the train into the city. Upon arriving at the MCG Lily was given a new Milo Cricket hat and t-shirt which was put in the bag in favour for her pink Milo Cricket gear as can be seen in the pictures. The children were given a chance to watch the Australian cricketers training in the nets before heading into the MCG for their own training session. The children rotated through activities which focused on bowling techniques, batting, fielding and Lily’s favorite wicket keeping. The trainers were very helpful and spent time with each child. Afterwards the children gathered for a meet and greet with 3 Australian Cricket players. They answered questions and then played a series of games with the children. Lily was extremely excited to be picked to team up with Chris Mitchell for charades. The players then signed tops or hats for the children and Santa made a visit with a ball for each of them. This opportunity was amazing and one that Lily still tells everyone about. She thinks the MCG is huge but very hot to play cricket on. She especially loved meeting the players and playing the games. When Chris Mitchell signed her top he called Lily his partner. I would recommend  parents to watch for these opportunities for their children. Milo Cricket has helped Lily gain confidence and develop skills which assists in her muscle and gross motor skill development. There has already been so much improvement in Lily in such a short time. Lily cant wait for cricket to start again.
