Jayden Egan to debut and ‘Play of The Day’ has arrived

Well done to Jayden Egan who will play his first game for the 1st XI this weekend against St Anthony’s. Jayden has performed admirably so far this season with seven scalps to his name and coming off 2 for 9 from 6 overs in the C grade last week. Jayden’s addition to the 1st XI adds to the depth of ones cricketers available in the clubs pursuit of a successful season. Good luck Jegan.

Also, by presidential decree the club will introduce a ‘Play of The Day’ award for each grade. At match reports each captain will nominate the Play of the Day for their respective side. The winner will be entitled to a refreshing ale, courtesy of the club. The Play of The Day isn’t necessarily the best a field performance; it may be recognition of a classic catch, classy run out, massive six or the provision of some light entertainment etc.  The winner must be present at match reports to recoup their drink.

Good luck to all sides on the weekend!
