Rupertswood U/16 Blue defending 133 in semi final against Gisborne.

Day one of the U/16 semi final saw our boys win the toss and bat with a dogged display in tough conditions accumulating a very competitive total of 6/133 from their 44 overs.

With our turn to bowl tomorrow,we are seeking as many Rupertswood supporters as possible (preferably in club shirts if access to one)to get down at least for some time in the morning from 8.45am to throw our support behind the boys in their bid to progress to the Grand Final next week.

Go Rupo!

Bunnings BBQ Day – A great success!

A tremendous day held last Sunday at Bunnings in Sunbury where the Rupertswood Cricket Club ran the BBQ facility for the day. We sincerely thank Marie Albano and all the staff at Bunnings for their support and the privileged opportunity provided to raise funds for our great club. A big thankyou to all the patrons on the day who sampled our culinary delights and purchased tickets for the autographed cricket ball and framed picture of legendary Australian Cricketer, Mr Cricket himself, Michael Hussey which was won by our very own Mark Williams.A special thankyou also for the great support from O’Shanassy Meats and Poultry together with Batman Bakery for the high quality sausages and bread used on the day. Of course these type of activities require a great deal of organisation and a big thankyou to our Social Co-ordinator, Stephen Dale for his wonderful efforts in making sure everything ran smoothly. Thankyou also to helpers on the day also: Wayne Withers, Mark Williams, Mark Arthurson, Mick Lamb and Mark Lane.

We hope to run similar events at Bunnings again in the future.

Certainly looking forward to the finished product to post on the website and display in the clubrooms moving forward.Thankyou to all who turned out and for supporting the entertaining match played between some of our senior players and our up and coming young guns.

On behalf of the RCC Committee,I wish to extend to all players that represent our great club, members, parents and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. There is still much cricket to be played and activities to be enjoyed after the break so please ensure you visit the website regularly to keep up to date with what is happening.

Take care over the festive season and and bring back plenty of positive energy into the new year to play out the rest of the season as best we can.

RupertswoodCC_2012_vs_Crusaders Scorecard

Thank you to all involved who made last Sunday’s annual match between Rupertswood and The Crusaders a most enjoyable one. It was ironic yet fitting that this was actually the 11th occasion the two sides did battle which coincided with Remembrance Day being the 11th day of the 11th month. Prior to the match commencing at 11.00am, players and officials formed a guard of honour and held a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving their country in wartime.
