Call out for Junior Coaches

Dear Parents,
After a very successful year in 2017/2018, where we saw Rupertswood Cricket club win the U/17 and U/13 premiership, a number of our coaches have decided to call it a day.
For the upcoming season 2018/2019 we will be requiring the services of U/11, U/13, U/15 and U/17 boys coaches and a U/16s girls coach.
If you have been thinking about passing on your cricket prowess or just want to spend time with your children, now is the time to give it a go. There is no requirement to have played the game nor do you need to go it alone if you want to coach with another parent, but just a have a desire to see children have fun and improve their cricket.
The training nights and times will be up to the coaches to determine based on work commitments and we can be as flexible as needed to help you out.
The Rupertswood cricket club will provide all of the necessary equipment and support required to coach the children.
The local cricket association, the Gisborne and District Cricket association (GDCA) will provide training in Community Coaching (formally level 1) free of charge at the following venues and dates. I will be heading to the Gisborne session and would love to see some parents there as well.
Ballarat – Sunday 7th October, 9am-1pm, registration close 30/09/18. Click here to register
Gisborne – Sunday 21th October, 9am-1pm, registration close 7/10/18. Click here to register
I look forward to hearing from you and to another successful year
Kind Regards
Andrew Bond
RCC Junior coordinator

News update – Senior Cricket is upon us

The start of the season is just around the corner and there is quite a bit to be done before the first ball can be bowled in anger (or happiness).

Round One selection and captain

Training on 5th October will be followed by a BBQ, announcement of this season’s captains and selection for round 1 teams (McIntyre, C grade  adn D grade only).

Working With Children Check WWCC

Going forward all bodies and groups who are involved with children (Under 18) are required to adhere to the Child Safety Standards. Part of this arrangement is to have any adults who have a supervisory role with children at the club have a current WWCC. This includes; Coaches, parent helpers, scorers, team managers, all senior captains, senior players driving junior to games, parents driving junior to games etc.

A link to apply for a volunteer WWCC is below and the application process is at no cost.
