Slammer steps up to VC role

Mark Ryan has formalised his leadership status within the club, taking on the Vice Captaincy of the first XI for the 2015/16  season. In addition to his Vice Captaincy, Slammer will also ‘run the nets’ on our busy Thursday night training sessions, freeing up our reappointed Chairmen of Selectors – Brett Hudd. Slammer has been a stalwart for the club in recent times and his steely resolve will be an asset going forward. Well done slammer and good luck!

Looking Forward to Aaron’s return for the 2015/16 season

In a vote of confidence for our ‘great club’, Aaron Forward has announced his planned return to the Rupertswood CC playing list for next season. Aaron has confirmed his return after a two year stint at Greenvale – Kangaroos, and looks forward to taking a leading role in the club’s bowling attack along side our other dashing blonde and former MCC quick, Logan Gray. The club is keen to see first hand the gains Aaron has achieved from his experience in 2nds and 3rds Premier Cricket as we continue our diligent and patient pursuit of a first XI premiership and a place back in the McIntyre Cup.

Bruce tons up!!

New recruit, BRUCE MARSHALL finally broke the club’s 5 year century drought in the 1st XI with a fine 105 no stand against Macedon CC. Carrying an old man’s calf injury into the game, Bruce opened the batting and batted beautifully for the duration of the 40 over innings, hitting 10 fours. Unfortunely Rupo’s bowlers weren’t able make the most of Bruce’s efforts with some wayward spells and a strong batting performance by Macedon’s top order, going down in the 37th over. Bruce’s efforts earnt him ‘Play of the day’ and lays a foundation for a big season ahead. Well Done Bruce!!!!

Bruce Marshall celebrates his hundred with a refreshing ale.
