To all club members, players and supporters,
On behalf of our committee I am very pleased to announce the following appointments for the upcoming 2012/13 GDCA season. John Lane has been appointed Senior Club Coach and Captain of the McIntyre Cup 1st XI team for season 2012/13.
John was an outstanding leader last season in his role as Captain of the McIntyre Cup 1st XI and complimented this through being awarded the Senior Club Champion for the 2011/12 season.John is determined to take the club forward in a positive manner with an emphasis on further developing our young talent as well as challenging our more experienced players in reaching new levels with a view to making our club the best it can be.
I am equally pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Williams as Director of Coaching and Chairman of Selectors.
Mark fulfilled the role as Director of Coaching in a joint capacity with John last season and was a driving force behind the co-ordination of training and general operations including player communication and our selection process.
Please join me in congratulating both gentleman on their appointments and I implore all, in particular our playing group to give your full support to them in their respective roles.
We aim to announce further appointments in terms of a support structure in the coming weeks.
McIntyre Captain John Lane & “B” Grade Captain Mark Arthurson at the newly laid “grass” on two of our training nets which was made possible by a Community Grant from Sunbury’s Helping Hand.
A big thank-you goes out from the Rupertswood Cricket Club community to “Sunbury’s Helping Hand” for providing us with a grant to acquire two new pitches for our nets. This has already made a great difference to our training sessions and will see us off to a great start for the 2012/13 season.
